This piece explores Edgar Allan Poe's lesser-known poem "Sancta Maria." Unlike many of Poe's works that I have set to music, this poem is far more reverent and lacks the darker tones typically associated with his writings. Consequently, I have set it in the style of a religious hymn, imbuing it with a sense of modernity while maintaining an authentic hymn-like reverence.
