I’ve been wanting to make the switch over to green energy for our house for a while but just hadn’t done it. Well, I was inspired by hanging out with the Back Porch Energy crew last night and just made the switch for us to use Wind power for the house. My challenge to you is to make some simple changes around the house to save energy(and money) such as:
Switch to CFL Lightbulbs
Turn off lights when you aren’t using them
Unplug electronics that you aren’t using
Buy ENERGY STAR appliances
and then use that money to go green with your energy. If you are in Virginia you can go here to sign up. Go coal and nuclear free today!
My “little” brother Mike got married on Sunday! It was a very cool and fun wedding that was held at Baldwin’s Station. I was honored to be the best man. We love Sarah and love having her be a part of the family!
I got to meet a few people involved with the Back Porch Energy Initiative at Buzzy’s today. Seem like very cool people and I’m a big fan of what they are doing. A group of them just moved to Church Hill a couple weeks ago. They are hosting a community gathering on Monday(the 28th) night at Globe Hopper at 6:30. I’m gonna try to make it out. Any locals want to come along?
For those checking this blog on a regular basis I want to apologize for the infrequent posting. I really haven’t been able to come up with anything worthwhile to write. I’m hoping that after this week I’ll be able to return to writing more regularly again.
This week we’ll be heading down to Narrows to be with Alicia’s family. The anniversary of the shootings is Wednesday and they are dedicating a bridge to Jarrett on Thursday. If you are the praying type we would appreciate them. If not, then we also welcome positive thoughts.
I can’t believe Memphis blew that game last night! Argh! Supreme choking. I had been rooting for Memphis throughout the tournament and it broke my heart. And when it went to overtime they cost me $20 in our pool. Congrats to Greg on winning, i’ll settle for 2nd place.
